All My Loving

Jim Sturgess

From the soundtrack of Across The Universe

unholyrhythms:

My fingers would travel down the serpentine path of your crooked and twisted vertebrae. Those bones which would beautifully protrude out from your hips, raised and poetic, like proud dignitaries, would tremble and shake. Your pale flesh kissed with slight scars and marks - stretched and elongated - was thin like rice paper. A delicacy for my lips and teeth - lightly pulled and pried. How you would moan and vocalize your intent with sighs - sending my backbone into a frenzy. I would compose sweet sonnets of seduction upon your goose-fleshed skin. My fingers - a writhe and silky pen - etching out my yearning.

Pulsating, throbbing sounds from RÂCCVE. A giallo disco. Pining, warning, harbinger of destruction and seduction. Ecstasy and agony. Subtle hints of something more vexing than what was intended. Distorted and wailing guitars intermingles with a goblin, demonic, boisterous chorus. Partaking in the celebration of flesh. Fantastic.

A new Fever Ray song titled “The Wolf” appears in the upcoming Red Riding Hood movie. Equally haunting as anything else Karin touches.

Band of Skulls - I Know What I Am

With their second album due out later this year, I wanted to spotlight Band of Skulls. They’re signed to the Memphis boutique record company Shangri-La who also represents Willie Nelson and the Pretenders.

Band of Skulls formed in Southampton, England. They’ve flickered in and out of the spotlight - being featured on half a dozen movie soundtracks and TV shows in the last two years. Honestly, with a sound reminiscent of The Dead Weather and Kings of Leon, I see big things for Band of Skulls in the future.

In this song, you can see a slight influence of their blues/country record label but they’re sticking to their retro rock roots. I love everything about this song. Russell Marsden’s rough voice with Emma Richardson’s soothing back-up vocals and that head-nodding beat. And, I mean, can you hear that electric guitar mini-solo?

At the darkest hour of night, I could sense a transformation about to take place. The smell of boiled flesh lingered through the corridor as I began to utter the invocation. Those words of protection, divine torture for the sake of my sanity. If the cleansing ritual worked, I would no longer be haunted by the ghosts of your affection. Your stinging, burning, tortuous adoration which abused my very spirit. My lower lip bled from the stress my teeth caused it - ripping the red flesh from atop - dripping into the mixture. Ecstatic, I began to weave back in forth to an invisible melody. Swaying side to side, head snapping back nearly off my spine, my entire body shaking - I soon recognized my state as a transfixed seizure. Profane undoing. Unrighteous resolution - a demonic divination my salvation.

† ▇ G ▇ O ▇ S ▇ T ▇ S ▇ † is giallo disco - frantic, trance rave for ravenous goblins at twilight. Bombastic yet vexing, the tracks pulsate and throb - like a heart beat or a brain beating out of the boundaries of its own skull. Wanting a release, to grow larger than the confinements of its own shell, the beats vibrate manically with zeal. Simply amazing.

Get it here.
